Theresa Cote is currently the NAEOP Secretary/Treasurer.
Charlotte Zeller was installed as State Department Council Chairman for the 2010-2011 Board.
Charlotte Zeller was elected to the Nominations & Elections’ Committee.
Gwen Kramer was elected at Advisory Council to serve on the Membership Committee.

The Central Area placed 3rd in the Area with Largest NAEOP Membership increase

2011 KAEOP Office Professional of the Year

Judy O’Malley who is currently the Registrar and Bookkeeper of Spring Hill Middle School and has been there since 2000. Judy has also been employed at Spring Hill USD 230 since 1978, and has also been a member of KAEOP as well as NAEOP for 25 years. Judy has held many positions in the KAEOP Org. such as President, V.P., many committee chair positions, and is currently the KAEOP Past presidents President.

2011 KAEOP Administrator of the Year

Scott Smith who holds the position of Assistant Director at Kansas State Dept. of Education at Topeka, KS.and has held this position for 9 years. As an assistant director, Scott oversees every aspect of the state assessment for Kansas students. He also works with a number of office professionals, consultants, and coordinators to coordinate various aspects of the state assessment.

Scott has shown very much support and encouragement for the KSDE AEOP group of educational office professionals and has acknowledged the importance of AEOP by encouraging local members to take the opportunity to participate at the State level.

Guidelines for Nomination

1. One candidate may be nominated by each KAEOP affiliate of the current affiliation year (July 1 – June 30).
2. DO NOT send scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, or any other materials. All materials must be submitted by sponsoring association at one time and no materials will be returned.
3. A $5.00 non-refundable fee payable to KAEOP must accompany the nomination. Fees will be used to help defray expenses for the winner to attend the Spring Conference.
4. Application material must be POSTMARKED by JANUARY 15.
5. The NAEOP Public Relations chairman will notify all candidates and the sponsoring association immediately after the final decision of the judges.
6. An inscribed plaque will be presented to the winner at the Spring Conference.
7. Nominations that do not follow guidelines will not be submitted to judges for consideration.
8. The Kansas Educational Administrator of the Year shall be nominated by KAEOP as a candidate for the National Educational Administrator of the Year award sponsored by the National Association of Educational Office Professionals.
9. Candidate may only receive the Kansas Educational Administrator of the Year award one time.
